When you board an aircraft, it’s good to know that aviation inspectors have been on the job. They ensure that all United States registered aircraft meet federal safety regulations. One way this is done is by careful and extensive inspection of the aircraft. Aviation inspectors must also examine flight and repair records. Only aircraft that have a valid airworthy, certificate issued by the FAA, can fly. Aviation inspectors check maintenance procedures, air navigational aids, and communications equipment. Aviation inspectors usually combine work-related experience with college degrees. They often specialize in a particular kind of aircraft, so their knowledge is often put to use in additional ways…from accident investigations to licensing examinations for industry workers. The goal of the aviation inspector is to make sure every flight is as safe as possible.
