The objective of this position is to plan, direct, and implement organization environmental, safety, health and security programs to ensure safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through collaboration with facility personnel of all levels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


*Plans and implements environmental and safety policies, procedures and programs in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.

*Leads the facility to world class safety achievements with a focus on behavioral initiatives ensuring all established metrics are achieved.

*Drives continuous improvement in all areas of environmental, safety, health and security through analysis of current state and development of strategies.

*Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.

*Leads the facility Safety Training Observation Program (STOP)

*Leads plant wellness initiatives supporting corporate initiatives and the development of plant specific initiatives and metrics.

*Responsible for total management of facility security to include, card access system, random searches, evacuation procedures and contract security vendor.

*Implements random drug screening process.

*Coordinates and leads the annual environmental plant maintenance shutdown.

*Prepares, studies, analyzes industrial incident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.

*Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.

*Initiates plant wide communications to educate and inform all personnel on all aspects of environmental, safety, health and security information.

*Leads the investigation of safety incidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.

*Compiles and submits all environmental, safety and security reporting of regulatory agencies.

*Maintains all environmental and safety records to include, but not limited to regulatory and training requirements.

Education/Experience:

*Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

*A minimum of five (5) years experience in environmental, safety, health and security in a manufacturing environment required.

*Must possess a business orientation and interactive skills to support the management team and function as a business partner.

*Strong communications skills (verbal and written)

*Group facilitation and presentation skills.

*Strong employee relations and change management skills

*Demonstrated success in handling multiple priorities
