The ideal candidate will possess 5 or more years of intensive database stored procedure development experience using Microsoft SQLServer 2005 or 2008, with an emphasis on highly tuned queries running on large databases with numerous tables and hundreds of concurrent requests. The candidate must have experience building processes to efficiently import and export large amount of data using utilities and languages including BCP, SSIS, T-SQL and C#.net. Candidate must be able to work in a fast paced results oriented environment. Must be detailed oriented and can demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. Understanding of data architecture best practices is required.
In this position you will:
Work under limited supervision of the VP of Engineering as Database Developer. Contribute to requirements definition, design and reviews as it relates to the data and database. Participate in all stages of software development including refining product vision, gathering requirements, data and database design, coding, testing, release, and support. Provide technical expertise for small teams focused on specific software modules. Work with the database administrator to ensure the most efficient utilization of SQL Server. Ensure software created and released conforms to quality requirements by accurately writing and executing test plans. Work with other departments to achieve cross-functional goals to satisfy customer expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the re-engineering of the database; correcting inefficiencies and implementing improvements
- Contribute to the design of highly scalable data architectures
- Participate in the documentation and modeling of the data architecture
- Work with other members of the technology team to identify dependencies and coordinate deliverables
- Be the knowledge expert on the data stored in the databases
- Develop highly efficient stored procedures and database functions
- Develop scalable, reliable, and automated data import, update and export processes
- Unit test code, and create and execute approved test plans for modules
- Investigate, identify root cause, and solve system defects
- Work with internal bug tracking and project management tools
- Adhere to project and release timelines
- Interact with customers/users to support software acceptance process and act as a liaison between development, user community, and external technology team
- Investigate and report problems
- Participate in the build out of QA, Staging and UAT environments
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of database develop experience using Microsoft technologies
- Expert in T-SQL and Stored Procedure development
- Expert knowledge of data structures, database design, stored procedures and query optimization
- Working knowledge of C# .NET development
- Data integration experience using SQL Server 2005/2008
- Experience bulk loading and updating millions of rows
- Experience working with large data sets (Millions of Rows, 100s of Tables, 100s GB of data)
- Domain experience in E-commerce, order management or BI systems a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable working within an Agile Development Team
