Job Description:
SQL Senior DBA responsible for support 300+ SQL clustered, stand-alone and SQL Data Warehouse databases in support of CDI’s client. Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005 is the primary database technology utilized. Database support is considered complex with certain data warehouses 20+ TB in size.
This position will be responsible for:
supporting Production and Disaster Recovery software and databases, including patching as directed by the customer for security and software currency as
a physical DBA
strong background in SQL data warehousing support; SQL Clustering high availability database support.
providing backup support as defined in the backup strategy defined by the customer
implementing processes developed by the customer to support the partitioning and archiving of data.
providing database maintenance (index rebuilds, etc.)
managing maintenance job schedules and coordinating them with the Production Control Team
assist the customer with performance analysis and tuning
self motivating; with strong written and oral skills required.
able to provide leadership, mentoring, support for more junior offshore DBA support
able to work provide 7x24 on-call support and able to deal with strict deadlines
experience with BrightStore and/or TSM/TDP is a plus
