SQL Server / IIS, Software Design Engineer in TEST in Redmond, WA 98052

Our client is a well known software corp. looking for experienced SDET's to test the next set of experiences that will be delivered over high-visibility gaming systems.

Candidates will verify web service components that allow the games to run on multiple platforms. Main responsibilities include analyzing designs, developing test plans and test cases, running automation and manual tests to verify web service behavior and creating detailed result reports.

Job scope includes:
  • Application and system performance, threading issues, bottleneck identification and tackling system/application intermittent failures
  • Writing small-footprint and less-intrusive code for critical tests
  • Verifying installation instructions, APIs, triggers, stored procedures, referential integrity, hardware and system specifications
  • Interpreting and modifying code as required including C#, C++, batch files, Perl scripts, JScript, SQL queries, stored procedures and/or triggers
  • Identifying and defining project team quality and risk metrics
  • Identifying Application/System/Inter-System level issues
  • Designing and developing robust automated test harnesses

Experience Required

  • 4 years of software testing experience
  • 2 years in a Windows client/server environment
  • General knowledge of software quality assurance practices
  • Ability to read and write C# and SQL stored procedures
  • Solid understanding of the software development cycle
  • Enterprise-level configuration skills on SQL Server and/or IIS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science required and industry experience
Preferred:
  • 4 years of development or database administration experience using servers
  • Prior experience testing web services
  • Knowledge of internet protocols and networking fundamentals including HTTP, RESTful APIs, XML SOAP and TCP/IP
